A. IQAC Roles and Responsibilities
Quality has always been a top priority for SRMBS and has guided all of the organization’s decisions and dealings from its founding. The goal and the effort done to achieve it serve as the foundation for SRMBS’s basic values, which are as follows:

The main duty of IQAC is to start, organise, and manage numerous tasks required to raise the standard of instruction provided at a facility or college.
IQAC Objectives:
- To create a structure for deliberate, persistent, and catalytic action to enhance the institution's performance in both academics and management
- To encourage actions that will help institutions run better by internalising a quality culture and institutionalising best practises.
IQAC Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the timely, effective, and progressive completion of administrative, academic, and financial tasks.
- Academic and research initiatives' relevance and excellence.
- Affordable and equitable access to academic curricula for all societal groups.
- Contemporary teaching and learning techniques are optimised and integrated.
- the validity of the evaluation process.
- ensuring the sufficiency, upkeep, and appropriate distribution of support infrastructure and services.
- Networking with other institutions of the state and others of national level and sharing research findings.
IQAC Functions:
- Establishing and implementing quality standards for the institution's numerous academic and administrative activities.
- ssisting in the development of a learner-centered environment that is supportive of highquality instruction and faculty development in adopting the necessary skills and technologies for participatory teaching and learning processes.
- Provision for student, parent, and other stakeholder feedback on institutional processes that affect quality.
- Information sharing regarding different aspects of higher education's quality.
- Setting up inter- and intra-institutional workshops, seminars on quality-related topics, and quality-circle promotion.
- The documentation of the different initiatives and activities that increase quality.
- Serving as the Institution's nodal agency for coordinating quality-related initiatives, such as the adoption and dissemination of best practises.
- Creation and maintaining of an institutional database through MIS with the aim of preserving or enhancing institutional quality
- Creation of a quality culture throughout the organisation.
- Creation of quality standards or guidelines for the institution's numerous academic and administrative initiatives
- Monitoring departmental responses to student, parent, and other stakeholder feedback on institutional processes related to quality.
- Disseminating information on various higher education quality parameters;
- Organising inter- and intra-institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes, and promoting quality circles;
- Documenting various programs/activities leading to quality improvement; Serving as a nodal age
- Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
- Development of Quality Culture in the institution.
IQAC Benefits

B. Roles and Responsibilities of Members of IQAC
1. Responsibilities of Chairperson
- Chairperson, is the chief mentor of IQAC and will direct and approve all the policy matters related to the overall running of the IQAC.
- Chairperson will be responsible for convening and chairing meetings of the IQAC
- He/she will ensure that the activities of the IQAC are in line with the college’s quality assurance policies and procedures.
- He/she will also be responsible for coordinating activities of the IQAC and for providing leadership in the development and implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures
- Overall supervision of IQAC activities.
- Approve IQAC minutes of meeting
- Communicate decisions taken during IQAC meetings to the management.
2. Responsibilities of Management Representative
- Management Representative will be the mentor of IQAC and will direct and approve all the policy matters related to the overall running of the IQAC.
- He/she will ensure that the activities of the IQAC are always follow the quality assurance policies and procedures develop by the college.
- He/she will also be responsible for supervise and provide the feedback about activities of the IQAC and for providing leadership in the development and implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Overall supervision of IQAC activities
- Approve IQAC minutes of meeting
- Communicate decisions taken during IQAC meetings to the management and whole organization
3. Responsibilities of Coordinator
- The role of the coordinator of the IQAC is crucial in ensuring the effective functioning of all the members.
- Secretarial assistance may be facilitated by the administration. It is essential that the coordinator may have sound knowledge about the computer, data management and its various functions such as usage for effective communication.
- Ensure active participation of all members in meetings/deliberations.
- Co-ordinate activities of IQAC
- Enable in preparing Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR)
- Scheduling of meetings, preparation of the agenda and minutes of the meeting.
- Maintain documents relating to IQAC activities, communication (within the organization) and archival
- Assist Programme coordinators in matters related to IQAC.
- To coordinate the dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
- To coordinate the documentation of the various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement.
4. Responsibilities of Secretary
- The role of the secretary of the IQAC is crucial in ensuring the documentation for effective functioning of all the members
- The secretary will be responsible for taking minutes of the IQAC meetings, and for ensuring that the college’s quality assurance policies and procedures are being followed.
- Preparing reports and presenting results to the relevant stakeholders.
- Developing and implementing training programs for staff and students.
- Participating in national and international quality assurance initiatives.
- Advising the college on best practices and current trends in quality assurance and accreditation.
- To coordinate the quality-related activities of the institution
- To coordinate the timely and efficient execution of the decisions of IQAC committee.
- To coordinate and prepare the documents along with reports of the various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement.
- Preparing the timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
5. Responsibilities of Quality Assurance Officer
- He /she will be responsible for Developing and implementing quality assurance systems and processes.
- Developing, monitoring and evaluating performance indicators
- Ensuring quality standards are met and maintained.
- Coordinating activities related to quality assurance.
- Participating in national and international quality assurance initiatives.
- Advising the college on best practices and current trends in quality assurance and accreditation.
6. Responsibilities of Members
- Attend the meetings of IQAC regularly
- Participate actively in preparation of AQAR
- Contribute actively in academic audits
- Participate actively in all other activities of IQAC
- Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
- The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes.
- Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society
Note : This is to inform all the members that your responsibilities as a member of the IQAC can be terminated or enhanced as per the condition. If your performance as a member of the IQAC has been outstanding, we may enhance your responsibilities by increasing your scope of work or giving you additional tasks. However, if the performance of the IQAC has not been satisfactory, we may have to terminate your role in the IQAC. We thank you for your dedication and hard work
